Description

We are looking for a Desktop Engineer to join on a contract basis to support a large-scale hardware refresh programme. This role will suit someone with strong desktop build and deployment skills who enjoys working in a structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building, profiling, and deploying laptops (Lenovo and Dell) to end-users.

  • Managing equipment lifecycle in ServiceNow (CMDB updates, in stock ? in use).

  • Supporting hardware procurement, stock management, and inventory control.

  • Preparing equipment for new joiners, leavers, and movers on a weekly basis.

  • Coordinating quarterly disposal lists for faulty/retired kit.

  • Packing and shipping equipment with required accessories.

  • Arranging vendor repairs for out-of-warranty devices.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Desktop Engineer or similar EUC role.

  • Strong knowledge of laptop build, configuration, and deployment processes.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM/CMDB tool).

  • Good organisational skills to manage hardware stock levels.

  • Comfortable with repeatable process work in a high-volume environment.

  • Experience with hardware refresh or lifecycle management projects.

 

This is a hands-on, process-driven role where attention to detail and reliability are key.
